Mothers Without Custody
To Inquire: 512-300-9865
As early as ten years ago custody of children was almost always awarded to mothers; but lately, more and more fathers are being awarded full custody or equal custody and children are being shuttled between households. Custody issues have become more complex and our society is scrambling to catch up. Mothers who have limited custody face issues that haven't necessarily been fully assimilated in our society. Some emotions that mothers without custody of their children encounter include:
Grief
Loss
Shame
Identity confusion
Fear about the future
Powerlessness and helplessness
Abandonment
Rejection
Confusion
Anxiety
Anger
While the issue is complex and difficult, it is important for mothers to know that they aren't alone, talking with others experiencing the same emotions is monumental to healing. This group is designed to provide a safe place where mothers without custody can discuss the complexity of their emotions and find hope and healing.
